The trekking trails to the Island Peak Climb with Everest Base Camp Trek start and ends with a scenic flight to Lukla. The route continues from Lukla to Phakding, to the Namche Bazaar, through Tengboche, and Dingboche, to Lobuche and Gorak Shep, to arrive at the Everest base camp, onward to Pheriche and Chhukung, and upward to the Island Peak base camp, Island Peak summit and finally Pangboche, where we will begin our return journey.
Imja Tse, also known as the Island Peak, is so named as it appears like an island amid a sea of ice. Island Peak is surrounded by the mountain peak of the Ama Dablam and Lhotse in the Everest region, 10 km away from the south of Mt. Everest. Climbing up to Island Peak Summit at 6,189m offers you superb views of Mt. Makalu at 8,475m, and Mt. Bruntse at 7,129m in the east and Mt. Ama Dablam at 6,812m in the south, including a panoramic view of the Khumbu valley. Additionally, this trek takes you to the Chhukung village, a beautiful pass that provides spectacular views of Mt. Thamserku, Mt. Ama Dablam, Mt. Kongtega as well as other mountains and glacier lakes.
