Manaslu Expedition

The eighth highest mountain in the world, Manaslu (8,163m/26,781ft) is one of the most famous and adventurous expeditions situated in the western part of central Nepal. The impressive Mount Manaslu, known as Mt. Kutung is also regarded as the “Mountain of Spirit”. This legendary Manaslu Expedition will take us to explore and enjoy it on several trails. The expedition is not only rich in wonder but also a rich, wonderful and diverse habitat with varied flora and fauna. The trail goes through the awesome Gorkha Gandaki Valley River, snowbound Larkya La Pass at an elevation of 5213 meters, and several villages including Machha Khola, Nyak, Jagat, Namrung, Lho, Sama Gaon, and many more. The Manaslu Expedition is fused with the greenery of rhododendrons and pine trees, breathtaking hanging glaciers, rugged ice falls, and stunning mountains.

Route of the Manaslu Expedition

The location of the Manaslu Expedition is comparatively very remote. It will offer you a wild trail filled with rough wilderness, lengthy ridges, and glacial valleys on the way to Manaslu. The Manaslu Expedition trail is a geographically spectacular and culturally fascinating trek in Nepal, which will provide you a feasible approach from all directions and culminate in a top that towers steeply above its surrounding landscape. Manaslu Expedition is famous among Japanese trekkers because most of the trekkers who come here to trek are Japanese. Although the Manaslu Expedition has a huge range of altitudinal and climatic variations, it can be accomplished by Mountaineers. The expedition route follows a relatively straight line to the summit, where trekkers should know about some technical sections on the way to Manaslu. Toshio Imanishi and Gyalzen Norbu were the first people to summit Manaslu, on the Japanese expedition on May 9, 1956.

After the exploration of major Kathmandu Sightseeing spots, the journey by road will follow the beautiful Buri Gandaki Valley up to Samagoan and finally reach Arughat. We will make the first acclimatization stop at an elevation of 3700 m at Mu Gompa before we embark on the Manaslu Expedition. During our trek, we will carefully follow the bamboo marker wands, where trekkers have to know some technical aspects of the expedition such as; how to use fixed ropes to cross the crevasses and dangerous routes. The trail is moderately sloped as you approach Manaslu and then becomes steep until we reach the summit. As you reach the summit, you can explore the unbelievable surroundings of Manaslu and after exploration, you can return to Base Camp.
